24 Faubourg is a lush, luxurious floral perfume.
I came across 24 Faubourg EDT when I was exploring perfumes with orange blossom. A friend offered to send me a decant so I could try it. I loved it and ended up buying a full bottle.
24 Faubourg is a lush, luxurious floral perfume. It's one of those old school formulations - a perfumey symphony without any specific note taking the center stage. While the orange blossom is obvious to my nose, there's also so much more going on with this one. It's lush florals, drying down to warm woods.
I find this one truly intoxicating. And it shines when the weather is cold. I remember, on New Year's night, I had worn this and also carried a decant in my purse. It was a hectic night; I was supposed to go to a house party and later meet some friends at our regular drinking hole. In my tipsy state, I kept respraying the decant every time I was in the cab commuting from one place to another. I just couldn't get enough of how good this smelled. Comical in hindsight, but thankfully nobody I met complained about the overspraying (I suspect it's because everyone else was also quite hammered.)
To me, 24 Faubourg gives the "old money" vibe - classy ah! It belongs to those who don't need to make a statement - they and everyone else knows who holds the strings without it being told or spoken about. It's oldschool and classic.
Unlike contemporary formulations where an EDT is short-lived compared to the EDP, 24 Faubourg EDT lasts quite long. The initial projection lasts for an hour and then the scent stays close to me for a good 8 hours. It's rumoured to have been discontinued but I'm hoping that's not true.
