Best soapy fragrance to ever grace the face of the Earth?
A luminous, polished take on retro aldehydic florals, the original Amouage Dia Woman Eau de Parfum captures the timeless, feminine mystique. Amouage Dia 40 Woman Extrait feels like its softer yet more indulgent evolution, richery, more generous, and quietly luxurious. It unfolds with grace, moving through three moments that feel like sunrise, peak daylight, and sunset.
What makes Dia 40 special is not just the strength but the way it is built. While most fragrances sit anywhere between light cologne to extrait levels, Dia 40 pushes it further with a 40 percent oil concentration, far above the usual extrait range. It is also aged for seven weeks with maceration and maturation, which adds depth and smoothness.
Higher oil does not just mean stronger. It changes how the fragrance wears, with more richness, less alcohol sharpness, and a more seamless blend of notes over time.
Perfumer Alexandra Carlin, who also did Honor 43 from the same house, nails the brief beautifully. To me, Dia 40 is the perfect soapy fragrance. Think of Dove soap, straight out of the packaging, no suds, just a straight up bar of the original Dove bar. Add to this a bit of Nivea body lotion, and bam - Dia 40.
I love soapy fragrances. A tad too much, honestly. Since the Dove and Nivea combo won't last on me, I'm happy I added this to my collection. Two sprays, one on each side of the neck, and I'm good to go. It lasts forever and a half.
Here's a little note breakdown -
Top Notes: Cyclamen Aldehydes, Musks, Blackcurrant, Violet Leaves.
Heart Notes: Rose, Orange Blossom, Carnation, Ylang-Ylang, Cistus, Bay Leaves, Tarragon.
Base Notes: Orris, Sandalwood, Amyris, Guaiac Wood.
I honestly have to say that this is one of those scents you'd deem signature-worthy.
A "scent"-ient being.
